On the heels of landing three offensive linemen in the 2026 recruiting class, the Ohio State Buckeyes were still hoping to add a crowning jewel. Elite five-star tackle Jackson Cantwell is this year's David Sanders, projecting as an immediate starter and impactful presence.
It's no surprise as to why new Ohio State offensive line coach Tyler Bowen has looked to extend his hot streak by reeling in Cantwell. However, according to On3's Steve Wiltfong, the Missouri native is focusing elsewhere.
The Buckeyes hosted Cantwell on an unofficial visit along with Michigan recently, but neither seems to be trending in his final list. Wiltfong reported that Georgia, Miami, and Oregon are now frontrunners for the massive 6-foot-7, 305-pounder.
“Jackson Cantwell pairs elite strength with outstanding movement skills and flexibility,” On3’s Director of Scouting and Rankings Charles Power said of Cantwell. “He’s a dominant run blocker with the athleticism that points to upside in pass protection. In what looks to be another strong cycle at offensive tackle, Jackson Cantwell comes out of the junior season as the top prospect at the position.”
The Buckeyes would've hit a huge grand slam by landing Cantwell, but the team is still in good shape.

With Sam Greer, Max Riley, and Tucker Smith already locked in with commitments, there are worse situations to be in. Greer profiles as a pure tackle, while Riley and Smith could move inside.
The Buckeyes are still in the mix for almost a dozen blockers across the country.
