Oklahoma Beats Out Kansas State Football for Top OL Target

While many at Kansas State felt like they were making up ground on four-star offensive lineman Noah Best, in the end, the Oklahoma Sooners earned the Texas native’s commitment.

Best, a 6-foot-3 interior offensive lineman from Midlothian, Texas, chose the Sooners over Kansas State, Missouri, Texas Tech, SMU, and more.

“I kind of always knew going in that if no other school stood out to me, I’d be committed by the end of the OV,” Best told OU-Insider’s Parker Thune. “The people in Norman are just amazing to me, and Coach B [Bill Bedenbaugh] is the best O-line coach in college football if you want to play at the next level. So that was the deciding factor.”

Coming out of Midlothian High School in the Class of 2026, Best is listed as a four-star prospect by the 247Sports index and the nation’s 403rd-ranked player. He also checks in as the 29th-ranked player at his position and the 53rd-ranked player in the state of Texas.

“Just hearing him talk about football, it’s an experience,” Best continued. “It’s really something to hear him talk about your film. He critiques every little detail. And you need to have every little detail perfect if you want to be a great football player.”

With the addition, Best became the ninth player in the Class of 2026 to commit to OU, giving the Sooners the nation’s 37th-best recruiting class.
