The Oklahoma State Cowboys baseball team just had one of the best moments of the postseason, walking off the Georgia Bulldogs in the Athens Regional!

Georgia earned the No. 7 overall seed in the 2025 NCAA Tournament and failed to reach the regional final, all due to an electric hit in the bottom of the ninth by freshman infielder Brock Thompson.

With a base-runner at first, Thompson connected on a deep drive to left field, which cleared the wall as the stadium erupted. The two-run shot in the bottom of the ninth secured the ‘Pokes an 11-9 victory over Georgia, and sent the regional hosts home early.

It wasn’t the only clutch moment of the day, either, as just a few batters earlier, Kollin Ritchie tied the game up in the bottom of the ninth with a two-run shot of his own. Georgia entered the ninth with a two-run lead over Oklahoma State, 9-7, and in the bottom of the ninth, it all came crumbling down.

Oklahoma State’s story, while incredibly exciting, isn’t over yet, though. They return to Foley Field on Sunday evening for a second shot at the Duke Blue Devils, who took them down 12-5 in the opening game of the Regional.

First pitch for that game gets underway at 5:00 p.m. central.
