Manny Pacquiao’s return to boxing at 46 has reportedly encouraged Tom Brady to return to the NFL.
Pacquiao will box Mario Barrios on July 19 for the WBC Welterweight. It will be Pacquiao’s first pro-fight since his defeat to Yordenis Ugas in 2021. His last victory took place in 2019 against Keith Thurman. There are worries that Pacquiao is risking his health, given that father time catches up with everyone. Pacman also has nothing else to achieve in the sport, given that he has won titles in eight weight classes.
“The problem is where he is in his life physically and what that really means, and what it can mean, and the damage he can do to a sport he obviously loves if God forbid something could happen to Manny Pacquiao at this point, because of the things that I think we’re honestly talking about,” Atlas stated
And if anybody can do it, he can do it. But I’m really concerned about it, given his age and inactivity. But again, I will certainly be rooting for him because he’s a really great guy who has meant so much to us as a company,” Arum said
Pacquiao has also been inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame. There is a chance that Pacman will damage his reputation on his return. However, it appears that Pacquiao’s return may have inspired Brady. There are rumors that Brady could return to the NFL. A report alleges that Brady will be picked for Team USA in the 2028 Olympic Games. If that transpires, Brady would be 50.
“He (Tom Brady) wants a Gold medal. And what better way to remain the GOAT and return to the sport he loves than by helping his country win gold? “He knows he could help and excel in that environment. Since his life is very much scheduled and has a tight regimen, many things could fall into place for him around that time. “With the Olympics being in LA, he wouldn’t have to travel far. And it would culminate in one of the best birthdays ever,” report
Pacquiao’s manager, Sean Gibbons, has also talked up the rumors.
“Tom Brady is inspired, saw Manny Pacquiao saying ‘I’m back!’ So, Tom Brady (said) he’s coming back. If Manny Pacquiao can do it at 46, I can do it at 47,” Gibbons stated
