Penn State Football Recruiting: The Top 3 Safety Targets for the 2027 Class

As July marches on, Penn State Football nears. Today, our series previewing the position-by-position outlook for the class of 2027 concludes.

The last position to hash out is Safety.

3 Names Emerge For Penn State

Yet again, Penn State Football has cast a wide net at Safety.

The Nittany Lions have extended offers to 16 prospects.

Weirdly enough, there aren’t many of those prospects who seem to be in play for Penn State. However, there are three clear options at this stage.

Jonathan Galette is the most obvious player at the Safety position for Penn State right now. Out of New Jersey, Galette has visited State College a few times. Penn State, Rutgers, Ohio State, and a few others appear to be in the mix with Galette. As a prospect from within the region, Galette would make sense for the Nittany Lions.

Another New Jersey product, Ryan Wooten, also makes sense as a Penn State prospect. He doesn’t have the offers that Galette has, but he did visit Penn State in the spring. Syracuse appears to be involved as well. I’m not sure where Wooten is on the Safety board, but he appears to be in play for Penn State.

The last notable Safety prospect is Pennsylvania’s own, Logan Steele. A Coal Township native, Steele has an interesting offer sheet. He has 5 offers. Penn State and Ole Miss have offered Steele, as well as Marshall, James Madison, and Bowling Green. He’s been to State College a few times, so that should benefit the Nittany Lions. I haven’t talked to Steele yet, but I would guess that if Penn State wants him, he would likely take that opportunity.
