After his tough last-second loss in the quarterfinals Penn State Wrestling standout Braeden Davis entered the B1Gs second session on an uphill climb.

Needing to win out in order to even make a podium, Davis took on Dustin Norris of Purdue and convincingly won via tech fall 17-2. Davis secured three takedowns and eight near-fall points in the first period to stay alive.

In the Consolation quarterfinals, Angelo Rini matched up with Davis looking to keep his own podium hopes alive.

With 2 takedowns in the first period, Davis had Rini on the ropes as a deferred choice to Rini who chose bottom-position to start the second. Rini made his comeback with an escape, and followed by a takedown of his own ending the second period down 6-5.

Looking to add some breathing room to his lead Davis chose to start the final period in bottom position.

Davis got his escape and added another takedown to take the decision 10-5. Davis moves on to the consolation semifinals and will face Braxton Brown (MD).
