Pitt’s women’s basketball staff has earned a commitment in the 2025 high-school class.

Late last week, 2025 prospect Macie Arzner committed to the Panthers. Arzner is a 5-foot-11 guard out of McMinnville High School in McMinnville, Oregon. She is ranked as a four-star prospect according to prospectsnation.com.

“I wanna say thank you,” Arzner said on Instagram. “Thank you to my coaches, my family, my teammates, and my trainers who have helped me along this journey. Through the struggle the pain the tears the comeback and the successes these people have stuck by my side giving me unwavering support. Thank you. I have had this wild dream since I was 5 years old watching my big sis play the game she loved and I am so grateful to have the opportunity to fulfill it. With that being said I have decided to commit to the University of Pittsburgh. I knew from the second I got off the plane that is was where I belonged. The people are some of the most supporting hard working people I’ve ever had the opportunity of meeting and the culture they are creating is nothing like anything I’ve seen. Can’t wait for this next chapter. H2P baby.”

Prospectsnation.com recently posted the following scouting report on Arzner:

“Arzner is a tireless worker every time she steps on the floor.  She’s instant energy and positivity.  But what puts Arzner on our Watch List is that those traits are combined with tremendous strength and bounce.  She is the player that wants to defend the opposition’s best player, regardless of position.  She’s a 5-11 swing player with length and strength to mix it up with a 6-2 forward.  Offensively she’s physical and explosive.  Now fully recovered from a knee injury a couple of summers back her game is taking off.”
