Georgia has long been one of the top recruiting programs in the country. However, this morning they are dealing with a decommitment. Wide receiver Aden Starling announced his intentions on X.

The three-star from Pearland, Texas initially committed and decommitted from Houston before committing to the Bulldogs in early December. Since then, he has added offers from Kentucky, LSU and Arkansas.

While he currently isn’t considered an elite recruit, his stock has been quickly rising which makes this a notable loss for the Georgia. This now leaves the Bulldogs with seven Class of 2027 commitments none of which are wide receivers.

Before anyone thinks that this is a reason for concern in Athens, that likely isn’t the case. Georgia often slow plays the beginning portion of the process and then consistently hits homeruns in the weeks leading up to National Signing Day. There is no reason to believe that this cycle won’t be any different.

As for Starling, expect LSU, Arkansas and Kentucky to be big time players. He will not end up at Georgia, but it is very likely that the Texas wide receiver will be playing his college football in the SEC.

During his junior season, Starling, 6-foot-0 and 175-pounds, finished with 31 receptions for 405 yards and seven touchdowns. He has followed that up with a strong offseason which has led to the influx of offers.
