TULSA — Phoenix Rising hits the road and hunts for their fifth win in a row, going up against FC Tulsa on Saturday, June 14.
Phoenix Preview
Rising continued to surge in the win column by defeating the Orange County SC on June 7, 3-1. Phoenix quickly took a 1-0 lead in the first half with a goal from Dariusz Formella in the 21st minute. Orange County equalized the match with a goal from Vuk Latinovich in the 58th minute.
However, goals from Rising’s Ascel Essengue and, five minutes later, from Charlie Dennis would get Phoenix the win.
Rising is fifth in the Western Conference and holds a 5-3-4 record.
Tulsa Preview
Tulsa rides off a win against the Sacramento Republic FC from June 7, 1-0. All it took was one goal from Tulsa’s Kalil ElMedkhar in the 10th minute to seal the win. Although Sacramento had possession for the majority of the first half, they only had one shot that wasn’t on target.
Tulsa goalkeeper Johan Peñaranda made a crucial save in the 94th minute.
Tulsa is second in the Western Conference with a 6-3-2 record.

The last time the clubs faced each other was in the third round of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup on April 16. After a 1-1 draw in regulation, Phoenix outscored Tulsa, 4-2, in the penalty shootout and eliminated Tulsa from the tournament.
