An iconic NFL stadium entered the final phase of its demolition. After hosting multiple NFL games, giving fans plenty of memorable moments, the venue will be demolished and a new one will be built.

The demolition plans at Aloha Stadium continued on Thursday. The team working on the demolition made major progress after bringing down a section of the stadium.

A video shared by Rob DeMello of KHON2 News shows a large chunk of the stadium torn down from the rest of the building. This marked a new milestone, as crews will get closer to the construction of the new stadium.

A New Venue Will Replace Aloha Stadium

The controlled collapse of the upper section brought the crews closer to the start of the construction of the new building. Demolition started in mid-February and will likely finish in December.

Workers first tackled seats, turf and lockers out of the stadium. Workers will start building the New Aloha Stadium Entertainment District (NASED) after the current phase.

The new stadium would have housing units, hotels, a mixed-use retail area and restaurants. It will have 31,000 seats.

Several new stadiums will make their debut soon, including the Buffalo Bills’ new Hallmark Stadium.
