High school football in North Carolina is as talented as any area of the country, with talented football players listed on the rosters of programs throughout the state. One of those players is Ethan Driver, a 2026 wide receiver from Davie County High School in Mocksville, N.C.

At 6-foot-2, 185 pounds with 4.48 speed in the 40-yard dash, Driver will catch every pass thrown in his direction. Driver’s hands measure out at 10.5 inches.

Over the past two seasons, Driver has hauled in 126 passes for 1,900 yards and 20 touchdowns. In 2024, Driver caught 67 passes for 942 yards and eight TDs for the War Eagles.

In the first game of the 2024 season, Driver caught six balls for 123 yards against Mooresville, an average of 20 yards per catch.

Against North Davidson in week three, Driver made nine catches for 268 yards and three touchdowns in a 44-17 win for the War Eagles. Driver scored on pass plays of 63 yards, 44 yards and 83 yards.

After three weeks, Driver had posted 22 catches for 498 yards and three scores.

Other 2024 standout performances for Driver included:

  • 11 catches, 130 yards, 1 TD vs. RJ Reynolds
  • 4 receptions, 88 yards, 2 TDs (22 yards per catch average) vs. Glenn
  • 6 catches, 43 yards, 2 TDs vs. Reagan

That kind of production has resulted in Driver being named a two-time All-Conference, All-Area, All-Region and Region Wide Receiver of the Year.

Driver also put his skills on display for collegiate personnel at summer football camps at Under Armour Next All-American Camp (invite only), Marshall, Gardner Webb, Coastal Carolina and Wake Forest.

Driver’s hard work and training paid off, resulting in scholarship offers from Marshall, Army, Gardner-Webb, Cornell, Davidson, Catawba College and UVA-Wise.

Other schools that have shown interest in Driver include Virginia Tech, Wake Forest, Appalachian State, Navy, East Tennessee State, Richmond, Campbell, Western Carolina, Maine, Georgetown and Elon.

A multisport star, Driver’s athleticism extends to the hardwood. He also plays basketball for the War Eagles and was named Defensive Player of the Year.

In the classroom, Driver maintains a 4.2 GPA, is a two-time Academic All-American and is a member of the National Honor Society.

The Godfather of Recruiting, Mike Farrell, had this to say about Driver:

“2026 verified 3-star WR/ATH Ethan Driver has size at 6-2, 185 and can separate. Has offers, will land more.”
