Stephen A. Smith Making 'Important' Announcement Wednesday

ESPN personality Stephen A. Smith isn't ready to slow down anytime soon.

Smith, 57, has been the face of ESPN's "First Take" for well over a decade. He was recently rewarded by the network with an extension worth at least $100 million. When he's not talking about sports, he's trying to improve his acting skills.

Earlier this year, Smith appeared on an episode of "Law & Order." He also has a recurring role on ABC soap opera "General Hospital." Though he has a great deal of respect for actors, he's not so sure he'd leave ESPN behind for a full-time career in Hollywood.

"It would have to be the right opportunity, of course," Smith told the New York Post. "I mean, I have a day job that pays me pretty well, so I don’t really need the work."

Of course, we can't also forget that Smith has flirted with the idea of him running for president in 2028.

"I would say, if I had to run, it would be as a Democrat, but I'm not happy with the Democratic Party. So the Democratic Party, as presently constructed, it would pretty much need to be purged in order for me to assume that I would want to be associated with them," Smith said.

While we're not sure what's next for Smith, he teased on "First Take" that he'll make an important announcement this Wednesday.

"This Wednesday, in terms of the money and all of that other stuff, I do have a very important announcement to make. But I have to wait until Wednesday," Smith said. "I just want to say that. I have an announcement coming. Wednesday. Wednesday. It don’t stop. The train don’t stop."

We can't wait to see what this announcement is all about.

Considering Smith is literally everywhere all at once, it could be anything from a political announcement to a new acting gig. It could also be something about his future at ESPN. There have been rumblings about him being more involved in the network's NFL coverage.

But if we're being really honest, we wouldn't be shocked if Smith's announcement is something as silly as him revealing his outfit for Game 1 of the NBA Finals.
