The Wisconsin Badgers have continued to work diligently with the 2027 class to find quality program fits, and one such fit was on campus earlier in the season.

Before traveling down to Tuscaloosa to suffer a difficult fate against the Alabama Crimson Tide, Wisconsin successfully defended home turf in Madison against the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders. Wisconsin handily won the game 42-10 and managed to also put on a great performance on the field in the second-half of play for the recruits in attendance. The Badgers have utilized the three home games this season as recruiting opportunities, and dozens of recruits have already been in attendance for some of the smaller games on the schedule.

One such recruit who was in attendance was Wyatt Liebentritt, a dynamic three-star safety from Nebraska who currently holds a scholarship offer from Penn State. Liebentritt is a strong defender who holds the 402nd overall ranking in the class, the 38th safety ranking, and the third in-state ranking. The athlete adds more than just defensive skills to the field as well with experience playing wide receiver and running back.

For the Wisconsin staff, the future appears to be at safety when scouting the recruit as Liebentritt has been in contact with safeties coach Jack Cooper. At 6-foot-1-inch, and 180-pounds, the safety has a prototypical frame for the position that the Badgers tend to hunt for. Wisconsin has been in contact with Liebentritt for months now and had the opportunity to host the defensive recruit during the clash against Middle Tennessee.

The athlete had been looking forward to the visit, and left the experience with plenty of positive takeaways. When asked about the visit, Liebentritt stated, “It was awesome, I enjoyed the city and the coaches were great to talk to, especially Coach Cooper. The atmosphere of the stadium was sweet and I loved the fourth-quarter jump around.”

Cooper has been the key link between Wisconsin and Liebentritt thus far, but following the visit, the athlete might have more to be excited about in Madison aside from the coaching staff. Heading into the visit, the recruit had been focused on growing his relationship with the Wisconsin staff, but left impressed with the experience.

“I was expecting to grow my relationship with the coaches and learn more about Wisconsin football. The visit definitely exceeded my expectations,” stated Liebentritt.

“I would love to come back. I loved everything about Wisconsin and it would be great to continue building my relationship with the coaches,” Liebentritt stated when asked about whether or not the visit and experience with the staff has been enough to warrant a second visit.

The recruit will likely be on campus again in the future, the question now is when that will happen. The Badgers will have to work fast as programs such as Nebraska, Iowa, and Iowa State have all been maintaining close contact with Liebentritt. The athlete also booked visits with Penn State for the white-out on September 27th against Oregon and with Minnesota on October 11th.
