Spurs are off to a flying start in the Premier League, as they sit second in the table behind fierce rivals Arsenal, only on goal difference. They have had a strong window so far, but will still want some more strengthening, especially after losing out on the signing of Eberechi Eze to the Gunners. Now, it has been revealed how much Tottenham Hotspur are willing to pay for target Savinho.
Fabrizio Romano has revealed that the Lilywhites “want to go over €70 million” in their efforts to acquire the services of Savinho. This equates to about £60 million, a fee just higher than they paid for Mohammed Kudus from West Ham United. This would bring their total spending this summer to over £125 million.
Tottenham will “try until the end” to get Savinho; presumably, they are a lot more desperate following Arsenal’s hijack of Eze. However, the Brazilian is “keen” on a move to North London. He started 21 games in the league last season, but competition will be tough with Manchester City’s strong depth on the wings. The move now “all depends” on the Sky Blues.
With the signing of Eze no longer happening, alongside Dejan Kulusevski and James Maddison being injured for more than the short-term, some may speculate that the “incredible” Savinho would play in the number ten role for Tottenham. However, whilst the need for the 21-year-old has become higher with these circumstances, he may not be a direct replacement, instead strengthening the attack from the wide areas.
Spurs are monitoring Maghnes Akliouche as the alternative to Eze, alongside Nico Paz. Bringing in Akliouche as the attacking-midfielder, with Savinho playing either on the left or the right, could arguably strengthen this side as much as the signing of the former Crystal Palace man would’ve.
