The Georgia Bulldogs are in the final two schools for a highly coveted 2026 edge rusher. But to land the prospect, the Bulldogs will have to beat a familiar foe -- the Alabama Crimson Tide.

On3's Hayes Fawcett reported Wednesday that four-star edge rusher Khamari Brooks has cancelled his other scheduled official visits to the Texas Longhorns and the USC Trojans. With that announcement, Brooks is down to the Bulldogs and Crimson Tide for his final decision.

"BREAKING: Four-star EDGE Khamari Brooks is down to Alabama and Georgia, he tells me," Fawcett posted on X.

"The 6'4 235 EDGE from Bogart, GA has cancelled his remaining Official Visits to Texas & USC."

Although the Bulldogs and Crimson Tide just officially became Brooks' final two, that has been the assumption for the past couple months.

“I am kind of focused on Alabama and Georgia right now,” Brooks told On3’s Chad Simmons in early April. “Both are great programs, they have been winning for a long time and they have great coaches.

"It is neck and neck between those two at the top for me right now. Neither school has the edge for me right now. It is very close between Alabama and Georgia.”

Brooks is the No. 14 edge rusher and 13th-ranked Georgia prospect in the 2026 recruiting class according to the 247Sports composite rankings. The edge rusher is also the No. 112 overall recruit.

Standing at 6-foot-4, 220 pounds, Brooks attends North Oconee High School in Georgia.

One advantage the Bulldogs have over the Crimson Tide is that he is a homegrown talent in the Peach State. Brooks suggested that could be a significant factor in his decision.

"One of the biggest messages for Brooks when he visits Georgia is that the best in the state play for the Bulldogs," wrote On3's Keegan Pope.
