New UCF Football coach Scott Frost made a nice addition in the Class of 2026 on Tuesday, with the addition of three-star signal caller Kane Archer.
Archer, a 6-foot-1 quarterback from Greenwood, Arkansas, chose the Knights over offers from 23 different programs, including Michigan, Ole Miss, Arizona, Florida State, Tennessee, Utah, and more.
“I remember Coach KZ hit my cell, I think it was January 17,” Archer told Rivals’ Brandon Helweg about his visit. “He came out here during the winter, and it really felt like I was important because he was one of the first ones to come and see me. He’d only been there for like two or three weeks. He had just left Tennessee and was moving his family back to Florida, but he took the time to fly out and visit me. The relationship has been really, really good.”
Coming out of Greenwood High School in the Class of 2026, Archer is listed as a three-star prospect by the 247Sports index and the nation’s 614th-ranked player. He also checks in as the 34th-ranked player at his position and the seventh-best prospect in the state of Arkansas.
Archer finished his thoughts by saying, “Coach Frost is one of the realest people I’ve ever met. He’s very straightforward and will tell you the truth whether you like it or not. And that’s kind of my favorite thing about him. We talked about basically everything. I like him a lot. That’s somebody you’d want to play for, for sure.”
With his commitment, Archer became UCF’s ninth addition to the 2026 class, a group that is currently ranked No. 40 in the nation.
