Darren Till picked up another win on Saturday, and plenty of fans are already wondering if he might be the one to finally beat Jake Paul in the ring.
The Briton’s UFC run did not end on a high note. Once seen as a top prospect and even challenging for the welterweight title, his time in MMA fizzled out. But since stepping away, he’s found new momentum elsewhere.
Till has achieved three consecutive victories under the Misfits Boxing banner since his last UFC fight, which ended in a loss to Dricus du Plessis. The latest came in Manchester over the weekend, and it was by far his most emphatic win yet.
Headlining Misfits Boxing 22 at AO Arena, the 32-year-old star stopped Luke Rockhold with a brutal left hand in the third round that left the former UFC and Strikeforce champion flat on his back.
With momentum now behind him, talk is quickly turning to what could come next for Till – and one UFC legend believes crossover boxing’s biggest name should steer clear of him.
Jake Paul is widely seen as the driving force behind the rise of crossover boxing, building his name by taking on familiar faces from both MMA and boxing.
Paul’s next fight is set against Gervonta Davis, following his win over former WBC champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. Whether he returns to matchups against MMA names remains to be seen.
If that happens, and Till ends up being the opponent, Michael Bisping has made it clear he would fully back his fellow Brit to succeed where others have not.
Bisping did not hold back in response to a fan comment during his live stream covering Till vs Rockhold: “‘Jake Paul would smoke him,’ get out of town!”
“Darren Till would absolutely f—ing destroy Jake Paul, fact! That is a fact.
“The fact that you said that, the fact that you think that, shows that you’re a little Disney boy that doesn’t know f— all about combat, man.
“Darren Till would destroy Jake Paul, and that’s just an absolute fact.”
Bisping is not the only one who doubts Paul would have much success against Till.
Another voice weighing in after Misfits Boxing 22 was former UFC middleweight Derek Brunson.
Brunson, who beat Till by submission back in 2021, thinks Paul would be smart to keep his distance from Till’s power inside the ring.
He wrote on X: “Good lawdddd. Yeah, Jake Paul is going to run from Darren Till, until he can’t run anymore!”
