Monaco is the crown jewel of motorsport. The iconic street circuit has been synonymous with open-wheel racing. However, the challenging nature of the track pushes drivers to the limit as even a small mistake could end one’s race. Now, F2 driver Isack Hadjer showcased his brilliant reaction time as he avoided a massive crash.

During F2 Qualifying on Friday, Rodin’s Ritomo Miyata was driving slowly in the famous tunnel. Unfortunately, no yellow flags had been waved by the marshals at this moment. As Miyata’s car went towards the end of the tunnel, Isack Hadjar was approaching the section at full speed.

Hadjar was pushing his car to the limit. However, the Red Bull junior managed to make a split-second decision and move away from Miyata’s car. This unreal reaction time allowed Isack Hadjar to miss a massive incident in the tight tunnel section. This showed the incredible reflexes of racing drivers.

Isack Hadjar didn’t realize how bad the collision could’ve been

Isack Hadjar commented on this incident after the session. The 19-year-old stated that he saw a car going slowly on the track. As such, the Red Bull junior quickly avoided Miyata on-track and managed to continue his lap without any trouble.

There was a car stopped, I avoided it, and that was it. Isack Hadjar said

However, Hadjer mentioned that only after watching the footage from the garage, did he realize how terrible this crash could’ve been. Despite the modern safety elements in motorsport, such an incident could’ve been disastrous for both Isack Hadjar and Ritomo Miyata.

Certainly, Formula 2 would need to take stricter action to ensure that when a car is going slowly, marshals bring out the yellow flag. Fans were relieved to see both drivers go unharmed from this dangerous incident. Now, both Hadjar and Miyata would be focusing on the remainder of the Monaco weekend.

Cam Newton Pushes To Elevate HBCU Football's Gameday Experience

"I want to be a part of the Black college football gameday," Cam said on his 4th and 1 podcast. Newton made an excellent point. In the latest podcast episode, Newton challenged ESPN decision-makers and expressed his wish to change HBCU football's gameday coverage of the SWAC, MEAC, SIAC, CIAA, OVC, and CAA. Cam Newton Is Reimagining A Role For Himself Cam Newton is not new to covering HBCUs. He has been on the sidelines at Black college games in recent years. Last season, he joined HBCU alumni Stephen A. Smith and Shannon Sharpe on First Take to report on the Morehouse versus Clark Atlanta game. The sudden interest from former professional football players in the HBCU coaching jobs and media is somewhat puzzling. Why now? "Well, you talking about the content? Which one of these members of the media is willing to go into the student section? I am. This is the sweetest gig in sports," Newton exclaimed. Why HBCU Football Deserves the Spotlight The former Auburn star and Heisman winner isn't just looking for a new gig—he draws a clear line between his own experiences and the opportunity to give back. "Since y'all don't want me, that's cool. I want to be a part of the black college football game," Newton says, owning his journey and pivoting toward a different kind of legacy. The former NFL MVP has the charisma and knowledge of HBCU football, which can elevate the sport and draw national media attention. His coverage must be unlike what we witnessed with LeSean Shady McCoy at the 2025 MEAC Media Day. His major Hampton-Howard faux pas, as Coach Larry Scott sat there, is now infamous. More Than A Game: Telling the Whole HBCU Story But, Cam has to brush up on his knowledge of HBCU schools when he said, "You get me to the Tuskegee, to the Savannah State, Tennessee states, the Jackson State, Oregon State, the North Carolina Centrals, the North Carolina A T's, the North Carolina A Ms, Alabama A M." Sorry Cam, there's no North Carolina A Ms...EVER! We get the point. Newton, inspired by figures like Pat McAfee, explained potential outcomes when a network fully supports his talent and cultural ties. Nonetheless, when it comes to HBCU Gameday, the name already belongs to Steven Gaither and HBCU Gameday - they own the trademark. When considering the experience, it is essential to show respect. Cam Newton: The Ultimate HBCU Sports Media Hype Man? Does Cam know football? Yes. Would he feature and spotlight the talent of HBCU football players? Yes. Does he understand the other elements of an HBCU football game with the fandom, marching bands, pageantry of the auxiliary teams, and Divine Nine (Black frats and sororities)? Yes. Cam will still need help from a co-host or multiple hosts who can provide the knowledge and historical texture of HBCUs. Fans pointed out that while adding Cam has merit, Black college football already has legitimacy. HBCU media coverage isn't reserved just for the football field in the fall — it's year-round. From a "box office" value, Cam Newton would be gold! Offering him a Pat McAfee-type deal to cover HBCUs won't happen, as the major networks don't value the content. His media presence could elevate HBCU sports broadcasting by injecting excitement and bringing in a new audience to Black college football. Newton's bags are by the door, the mic is hot, and he's ready to shine on a stage for HBCUs. Are the networks prepared to level up? We shall see.

Browns make curious decision with rookie QB Shedeur Sanders

The Cleveland Browns are giving Shedeur Sanders special treatment in training camp, but it's not the type of favoritism the fifth-round pick would necessarily want. Per Daniel Oyefusi of ESPN, Sanders is the only Browns quarterback who has not been taking reps with the first-team offense during OTAs or the first two practices of training camp. Former Pittsburgh Steelers first-round pick Kenny Pickett, veteran Joe Flacco and rookie Dillon Gabriel have all split reps with the first team. Despite being asked to throw passes to members of the equipment staff amid a shortage of professional pass-catchers for a four-quarterback roster, Sanders said he's thankful for the opportunity to show the Browns coaching staff his talents. "I feel like that it's not in my control, so I'm not going to think about that or even have that in my thought process of why it is," Sanders said to a question as to why he's not getting first-team reps. "There's a lot of people who want to have the opportunity to be at this level, and I'm here and I'm thankful to have the opportunity. So, whenever that is, that is." Sanders, 23, believes that he can contribute more to the Browns than what the coaching staff is asking of him. "It doesn't make me feel down or left out because I know who I am as a person," Sanders said. "I know who I am as an individual and I know what I could bring to this team. So, I can never feel less than any circumstance." The Browns selected Sanders with the No. 144 pick in April's draft. As a player whom many draft analysts thought was a first-round talent, Cleveland took what could be the steal of the draft in the fifth round. It's curious why the Browns aren't giving Sanders a shot with the first team early in training camp before the quarterback race becomes more serious. Cleveland should absolutely see what Sanders has to offer this summer. Flacco, 40, isn't a long-term solution at the position. Pickett failed in Pittsburgh. The Browns need to gauge what rookies Gabriel and Sanders can do with the first team. Having Sanders throw balls to the equipment staff is a waste of everyone's time. But then again, Cleveland has wasted plenty of quarterbacks.

Quinn Ewers’ Camp Performance Forces Dolphins Into Tough QB Decision

Being the backup quarterback isn't necessarily the most exciting role for anyone, but for a team like the Miami Dolphins, where starter Tua Tagovailoa has suffered four concussions since entering the NFL in 2020, it could be vital. As of now, a clear battle for that spot has formed between rookie seventh-round pick Quinn Ewers and veteran former first-round selection Zach Wilson as they go head-to-head. Of course, training camp is where these kinds of questions can be solved, and so far, it appears that Ewers has done a good job in putting his best foot forward. On Friday, David Furones of the Sun Sentinel gave a very positive update on the young quarterback, stating, "Dolphins rookie QB Quinn Ewers had a strong third practice of training camp. Made several impressive, big-time throws." The update sparked conversations among many fans, both supporting Ewers and a serious showing that there's interest in seeing who comes out on top. "Show ‘em, Quinn," said one comment. "He just does a lot of things (anticipatory throws, timing throws, MOTF accuracy, etc.) that fit this system much better than what Wilson does. I think with refinement and development we could have a backup in Miami that can operate the offense efficiently…finally," said another. "Love to hear it!" a third added. A fourth stated, "I'd be surprised if he's not the backup.." "I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Quinn Ewers has the physical tools to stick at the next level. It’s just a matter of shaping the rest," a fifth continued. "That’s QB2 potential QB1 in the future Glad we drafted Ewers," said another. Another big test for both Ewers and Wilson will be during the Dolphins' three preseason games, as the coaching staff will get a much better look at how these two perform during live matchups. Luckily for both, though, being the backup is all they're truly fighting for, as Kyle Crabbs of A to Z Sports predicts that each will make the final 53-man roster, with cuts needing to be made by Aug. 27.

Lakers Pegged as Landing Spot for Ex-Celtics Guard Named Top Free Agency 'Steal'

The Los Angeles Lakers are working on building a contender around last season's blockbuster addition of Luka Doncic, and could have their eyes on a player named the biggest "steal" of free agency. James Herbert of CBS Sports noted that former Boston Celtics star Malcolm Brogdon is still looking for his next NBA home and could be a bargain for a team that lands him. "After a couple of years in Portland and Washington, it feels like it's time for the veteran guard to get back on a winning team," Herbert wrote. "If healthy, he could be a real bargain for a contender -- it was only two years ago that he won Sixth Man of the Year in Boston." Bleacher Report's Timothy Rapp named the Lakers as a team to watch for Brogdon, who has shared his admiration for Lakers star LeBron James in the past. Speaking to Brandon “Scoop B” Robinson, the former NBA Rookie of the Year said he believes James is the greatest of all time and disagrees with those who use his longevity as an argument against him. “At 40, I think that LeBron is playing at a higher level, but I think medicine and I think science has come a long way,” Brogdon said. “But I think also longevity has to be counted for LeBron. He’s the first player in this game to have longevity that is counted against him, you know? It’s one of his downfalls.” Brodgon was a solid contributor for the Washington Wizards last season, scoring 12.7 points with 3.8 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game.
