A week after four teams scored a total of five defensive touchdowns, no team took a turnover back for a TD, while three special teams plays resulted in six points. Usually we see one or two defensive scores on a weekly basis from year to year, with the occasional outburst between three and five sprinkled in.
The league's new rules on special teams returns gives teams a boost in that regard, although it's not something fantasy gamers can reasonably rely on from one game to the next when looking for rotational plays.
Should you be without Green Bay or Pittsburgh thanks to byes, retain each unit, and turn to the wire for a chance to exploit an inexperienced quarterback or battered offensive line.
