The Wisconsin Badgers have locked-in another game-day visitor for the upcoming season, and this time the athlete is a top 2028 prospect.
Jevyn Severson, a 2028 four-star tight end, is currently ranked as the 62nd overall recruit in the class, the second tight end, and the best recruit in Iowa. Severson is one of the fastest rising recruits in the 2028 class and has become a highly-coveted player. The tight end made some major strides in his development a season ago and began to show great promise on both sides of play with experience playing as a down linebacker.
Severson currently holds scholarship offers from Iowa State, Wisconsin, and Kansas State, but has drawn interest from Iowa, Kansas, and Nebraska as well. The tight end may only have a handful of offers, but with boatloads of potential and another season nearly set to kick-off, Severson could see his recruitment take-off in a major way in the coming months.
After racking up some scholarship offers, Severson made the decision to book a full slate of game-day visits for the upcoming collegiate season. Among the programs included is Wisconsin, which is a great sign for the program after extending a scholarship early to the athlete.
Currently, Severson has a busy schedule of visits, which are subject to change, but will be at the following games listed with the bold team being the host:
From an early glance at his visit schedule, the Wisconsin Badgers will have plenty of pressure to make a good impression as Severson returns to the state.
The Iowa Hawkeyes could be the big winner of the fall visits for Severson as he will be in attendance for two games including a home game. Severson still does not have a scholarship from the program either, which could be a surprise that is waiting for him. The Wisconsin staff will have to work diligently to keep the recruit thoroughly impressed despite other programs closing in.
On the field, the reason as to why so many programs have begun to target Severson is rather clear with his freakish athleticism for his size. Tight ends are often not as quick and dangerous in short space as Severson is and the athleticism from his basketball career can be seen in his game on the gridiron. This past season, Severson caught three touchdowns and became a serious red-zone threat while impressing heavily on defense.
As a linebacker and additional rusher off of the edge for his team, Severson recorded 34.5 tackles and 2.5 sacks as he continued to develop his skills on defense. The athlete still has not hit his ceiling on either side of the football, which should make for an exciting season.
