A top Wisconsin football commitment in the 2026 recruiting class has backed up his commitment to the Badgers in a recent post.

Maddox Cochrane, a 2026 three-star commitment for the Badgers, recently explained his commitment in depth after worries grew about more potential flips within the Wisconsin class. Cochrane settled the worries as the recruit revealed his recruitment was shutdown shortly after his commitment announcement became public.

Cochrane stated “I’m not coming up anymore” when calling all other coaches who had booked visits with the recruit. The talented lineman previously committed to Wisconsin over Duke, Virginia, Virginia Tech, and Rutgers. The Virginia native is currently the 24th-overall recruit in the state as part of a loaded 2026 recruiting class.

The offensive lineman previously revealed that the biggest catalyst in his recruitment was Wisconsin offensive line coach AJ Blazek. Cochrane and Blazek have developed a close relationship and Cochrane previously stated that Blazek is “why I’m here” after his commitment.

What will Maddox Cochrane Offer the Wisconsin Football Offensive Line?

While Wisconsin is set to have a rather deep offensive line room, Cochrane should stand out as the massive tackle is a part of the new Badgers mold.

The Wisconsin football staff has pushed for bigger and more physical players at every position, and standing in at 6-feet-7-inches has set Cochrane apart. The tackle is not only tall, but also a strong and physical player that is not afraid to exert himself on the field.

Cochrane is not all power either, as the offensive lineman also possesses a rare set of agile feet for someone of his size. Cochrane is very light on the field and seemingly always manages to slide over quickly without losing any power in his blocks. The offensive lineman is also not afraid to blow through opposing defenders when run blocking which is a great sign of Wisconsin moving back to running the back with more power.
