During a productive recruiting weekend, the Wisconsin football staff spent time with a priority tight end target who could be nearing a decision.

Jack Janda, a three-star tight end from Novi, Michigan, lives right between Ann Arbor and Detroit but might stay in Madison in the future. Janda picked up scholarship offers from Wisconsin and Michigan around the same time, but has since grown a close relationship with the Badgers.

Wisconsin had the pleasure of hosting Janda this past weekend for his first official visit, which the recruit felt was a productive one. Janda spent time with tight ends coach Nate Letton as well as fellow three-star 2026 tight end Jack Sievers.

Sievers is currently predicted to land with the Wisconsin football program but still must visit Minnesota and Boise State before potentially doing so. The Badgers could pickup two valuable commitments at a position of need after hosting both recruits this past weekend.

Janda is currently down to Wisconsin, Stanford, Illinois, and the home state Michigan State Spartans. The tight end will visit the mentioned teams in order, with the Spartans hosting Janda before the recruit announces his commitment decision.

Wisconsin Football Pulling Closer to Potential Commitment From Michigan Tight End Jack Janda

The Wisconsin football staff has been recruiting Janda heavily for nearly a year and do not intend on slowing down at any point even with a possible commitment from Sievers.

Janda stands tall with a 6-foot-5-inch, 220-pound frame and a do-it-all kind of mentality that Wisconsin has adopted for the position. The Badgers do not want tight ends who shy away from blocking or struggle to pull down receptions. Janda is a talented tight end that can offer Wisconsin flexibility with a large, developing frame that can be built upon.

With the official visit over, the big-time recruiting moment is over, and the Wisconsin football staff will have to hang on through the rest of the official visit schedule.

While Wisconsin is likely the current leader in the recruitment of Janda, the Michigan State Spartans are going to be a program to watch. Previously, Janda expressed a potential interest in staying close to home throughout his collegiate career. The recruit has visited the Spartans campus seven times and twice this year already.

If the Wisconsin staff is able to pull-off a Janda commitment, that would be a serious win considering the recruit has had a longer standing relationship with Illinois and Michigan State.

The Spartans already hold a commitment from four-star tight end Eddie Whiting and three-star Joey Caudill which could play a role in the eventual decision of Janda. Illinois, on the other hand, has been hot with 16 2026 class commitments including multiple commitments over Wisconsin.
