The Wisconsin football staff has extended a scholarship offer to one of the top 2027 in-state recruits after hosting the offensive lineman.
Hunter Mallinger, a three-star 2027 offensive lineman, has picked up his eighth total scholarship offer after being extended by Wisconsin. The Wisconsin staff had kept a close eye on the Hamilton star for the past few months, with offensive line coach AJ Blazek visiting Mallinger previously. Now, after camping with the staff and performing in front of them, Mallinger holds an elusive scholarship offer in hand.
Mallinger also holds scholarship offers from Duke, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa State, Minnesota, and Washington State. The offensive lineman is just starting to feel the results his work on and off the field, and the Wisconsin football scholarship is a small piece of a bigger puzzle being put together.
The talented lineman is not alone in the recruiting process, however, as brother Reece Mallinger is also a 2027 recruit. Reece was just recently entered into recruiting databases as a three-star recruit, holding a lone scholarship offer from Northwestern thus far.

The 2027 in-state recruiting class is going to be pivotal for the Badgers as the state of Wisconsin could produce one of the best classes in recent history.
While the 2027 in-state class is loaded, the Wisconsin football staff like what Mallinger has to offer in particular and could keep tabs on the recruit throughout the year.
After already hosting Mallinger for a camp and an unofficial visit, the next step for the Badgers is to bring the recruit on campus for a game during the upcoming season. Wisconsin is set to run a gauntlet on the field during the upcoming season, and while some fans might be concerned about losing results, the exposure big, meaningful games could produce is big for the program.
