The Wisconsin football staff recently hosted a top defensive target and have since keep close tabs on the talented 2026 class recruit.

Jamyan Theodore, a 2026 three-star cornerback from Tennessee, began cutting down his list of schools months ago and kept Wisconsin in the initial cut. The Badgers were lucky enough to secure an official visit with the recruit, and now eye becoming the last team standing. Theodore has held a Wisconsin scholarship offer since February when the program discovered the true abilities of the recruit.

While Theodore is a three-star recruit and the 13th ranked player in Tennessee, the talented defender has received plenty of praise and recruiting attention along the way. The defensive back is a priority target for both Kentucky and Tennessee alongside Wisconsin, which displays the quality of programs that are placing a premium on landing the recruit.

Currently, the final four schools for Theodore is believed to be Kentucky, Wisconsin, Tennessee, and Louisville. Tennessee and the Wisconsin football program has a recent history involving recruiting that has added an extra touch to the battle for Theodore.

Previously, the Wisconsin football staff secured a commitment in the 2025 recruiting cycle from athlete Brenden Anes. The Volunteers completed a flip of the linebacker, who is a Tennessee native, and later made a point of keeping Tennessee talent in-state. The Wisconsin Badgers believe this time, however, Theodore will land in Madison and stay for the foreseeable future.

The hunt for Theodore has primarily been due to the fact that the recruit is a do-it-all defensive back that can play a variety of positions if needed. Theodore possesses amazing speed, excellent footwork, and great awareness on the field which creates for a valuable defender from the point of view of a coaching staff. The defensive back has plenty of talent while still being a developing player who can be molded into whatever each staff chooses.
