'Would Just Be Happy To Be There': Caitlin Clark Gives Honest Take On Shootout With LeBron James, Steph Curry

Caitlin Clark’s rookie season was nothing short of electric. She ran away with the 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year crown, rewrote record books, and kicked off the 2025 season firing on all cylinders—before a left quad injury hit pause on the show.

Still, her impact hasn’t slowed down. While fans eagerly await her return to the court, Clark has kept things light and relatable—even when being compared to some of the game’s GOATs.

In a recent exclusive interview with FanSided, Clark was asked a playful but bold question: Who would win in a 3-point shootout between her and Steph Curry?

Her answer? Classic Caitlin:

“Probably Steph. I would just be happy to be there, though.”

When the interviewer floated the idea that she might outshoot LeBron James, Clark simply laughed and said,

“I don’t know about that.”

For the record, Clark shot 34.4% from deep last season, jacking up nearly nine triples a game. Meanwhile, Steph’s still doing Steph things—knocking down 39.7% on over 11 attempts this season. LeBron? He’s been quietly on fire too, shooting 37.6% from three after hitting a career-best 41.0% last year.

“It’s Not Worth It”: Caitlin Clark on Taking Her Time to Heal

As for when she’ll lace up again, Clark isn’t rushing it.

Ahead of Indiana’s rematch with the Chicago Sky, Caitlin Clark gave an update on her recovery, making it clear she’s playing the long game:

“After that, it’s day by day and see how I feel… I feel like I’ve made a lot of progress, and I feel good. I’m not going to rush coming back. It’s not worth it,” she told The New York Times.

Clark has been out since May 24, but her return could come as soon as Tuesday against the Atlanta Dream. If not, she’ll have a few extra days to rest before the Fever’s big rematch with the New York Liberty on June 14.

No matter when she returns, one thing is certain: Caitlin Clark’s presence—on and off the court—is already legendary.
