3 Best Bets for the Genesis Invitational
Kiyoshi Mio-Imagn Images

The PGA Tour heads to Riviera this week for the Genesis Invitational, one of the toughest and most respected stops on the schedule. With Tiger Woods hosting and a loaded signature-event field competing for a massive purse, every shot matters. Riviera demands elite ball-striking, power off the tee, and precision with long irons, especially on Kikuyu rough and slick Poa annua greens.

That’s why this article zeroes in on three of the best bets for Wednesday, targeting players whose skill sets line up perfectly with this course. These picks focus on value, form, and winning upside, giving you a strong edge before the tournament really gets rolling.

All odds are from DraftKings Sportsbook and are subject to change. DraftKings does not sponsor this content.

Collin Morikawa Top-10 Finish (+245)

Backing Morikawa for a top-10 finish at the Genesis makes plenty of sense given his elite course fit and current form. He doesn’t rely on power like many who succeed at Riviera, instead using precision and world-class ball-striking, which has consistently translated to strong results here. Morikawa has never lost strokes on approach in seven career starts at Riviera, an impressive mark at a course that demands elite iron play.

He also arrives with confidence after ending a two--plus-year win drought last week, and his iron performance at Pebble Beach was his best in nearly six years. With his putting trending in the right direction on Poa annua greens and his approach game locked in, Morikawa has a strong floor and looks well positioned to land inside the top 10 again.

Harris English Top-10 Finish (+295)

English is a strong top-10 bet in a signature field where value is limited. His biggest improvement in 2026 has come off the tee, gaining nearly a stroke per round, second only to Scottie Scheffler, a major edge on a demanding course like Riviera. Bogey avoidance is critical here, and English ranks third in this field over the past three seasons. He also has shown success on difficult tracks, including Riviera, where he finished seventh in his last appearance (2024). With consistent form, elite driving and a reliable short game, English profiles as a player who can contend and be in the mix Sunday.

Tony Finau To Win (+12000)

Finau earned a final sponsor invite and responded with a final-round 66 at Pebble Beach to finish inside the top 20. That gives him two top-20s in his last three starts, including a T11 at Torrey Pines, a sign his form is trending up after a long stretch without one. His course history at Riviera is elite, with runner-up finishes in 2018 and 2021 and five top-20s in his last seven appearances, including a T5 last year. The demanding layout suits his driving and approach play, and expected tough conditions should only help. With his recent putting spike on Poa annua, Finau offers real upside as a long shot, and I’ll also be targeting a top-20 (+270) finish this week.

One-And-Done Play of the Week

If you play in a "one-and-done" league, the idea is simple: You get to use each golfer once all season, so picking the right spot matters.

Matthew Fitzpatrick stands out as a strong one-and-done play this week, as he projects for under 5% ownership. His accuracy off the tee is a major advantage at Riviera, especially in difficult rough. Fitzpatrick ranks seventh on Tour in Strokes Gained: Tee-to-Green and third in greens in regulation in 2026.

He enters in form with a top-15 at Pebble Beach, gaining 2.8 strokes off the tee and 7.8 on approach, along with a top-10 in Phoenix. His elite ball striking, scrambling and prior top-five finish here make him a high-upside, low-ownership option.

I'd also be interested in throwing a few bucks on him for a top-10 finish (+300).

Last Week's Result
