Adam Scott’s Australian Family Features Dad Phil, an Ex-Pro Golfer Before Accident

Golfing runs in Adam Scott's family thanks to his dad Phil Scott's impressive history with the sport. Phil is a former golf pro before a motorcycle accident prompted a knee injury which inhibited his career.

Adam is from Adeliade, Australia, where he was raised by his parents Phil and Pam Scott. Now, Adam has options when it comes to where he lives with his family since they have houses in both Switzerland and the Bahamas.

As for Phil's career, the former golfer eventually turned to the business side of golf helping his son away from the course.

"I was a decent enough player to be a pro," Phil explained during an a 2014 interview with Fox Sports. "I never then tested to see whether I would get any better. I had an accident that shattered my leg right when I was qualifying, when I was 19.

"I shattered my kneecap and did it badly. And (operations) in those days weren’t what they are today. So I had steel pins in my knee for a few years."

Adam has a history of not being with his dad on Father's Day, but it is for a good reason. The PGA Tour veteran is typically on the course competing in tournaments and this is no different on Sunday.

Adam is a little tied up this Father's Day trying to win the U.S. Open at Oakmont. During a 2019 interview with Australian Golf Digest's Brad Clifton, Phil admitted that the two do not get to spend much time together on Father's Day.

"These days we are never together on Father’s Day, and of course they are on different days in Australia and the USA," Phil explained at the time. "But, to his credit, he always sends me a message or calls me, so that’s good enough."
