Golf Fan Stripped Off Clothes To Retrieve Golfer's Club

A fan at the PGA Championship gave viewers an unexpected show at this year's tournament and it has Sky Sports reminiscing.

Back in May, a spectator stripped down at Valhalla and jumped into the water to retrieve a club for Adam Hadwin on the seventh hole — which was one of the most viral moments of the 2024 golf season.

Fans still couldn't believe it on X:

"I would have done the same," a user said.

"Weird choice to keep socks on," another laughed.

"Did he really need to dive in not even kneecap height," a fan asked.

"Dude kept the towel for his club," another person cried. "i thought he was going to give it to the guy."

"Club wasn't even that far...surely could have been a way to retrieve it without all that," another user pointed out.

"Leaving the socks on makes this weird."

"I'd watch golf if this happened more often," another claimed.

Xander Schauffele ended up walking away with the title — edging out Bryson DeChambeau by one stroke with a birdie on the final hole to collect $3.3 million of the event's $18.5 million purse.

It was his first career major and one that definitely was a long time coming for the 31-year-old PGA vet.

"I don't think I'd ever look at it as lacking," Schauffele said at the time. "I looked at it as someone that is trying really hard and needs more experience. ... All those close calls for me, even last week, that sort of feeling, it gets to you at some point. It just makes this even sweeter."

We'll see if 2025 holds any more moments like the one we saw earlier this spring. But something tells us there'll be plenty more funny moments to look back on at this time next year.
