Golf legend John Daly has received a prestigious new title. He was named the 2026 Ambassador of Golf. The honor recognizes his unforgettable impact on the sport and his extensive charity work off the course.
Mark Christopher Auto Center shared the news on Tuesday via Instagram, writing:
“Legendary golfer John Daly has been named the 2026 Ambassador of Golf for the Kaulig Companies Championship.
A true icon of the game known for his power, personality, and unforgettable presence on the course. We’re proud to celebrate greatness on and off the green.
”
Daly now joins a list of past Ambassadors of Golf recipients. The group includes Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus, and Nancy Lopez, along with recent honorees Stephen Curry (2023), Peyton Manning (2024), and Darius Rucker (2025).
Daly will be honored during the Kaulig Companies Championship, scheduled for July 9-12, 2026, at Firestone Country Club in Akron, Ohio. The championship, supported by Matt Kaulig, has raised over $8 million for local non-profits over the past four years.
Speaking about it in a news release, Daly said, “I’ve always loved this game and what it’s given me. Golf has taken me places I never imagined and introduced me to incredible people along the way. To be recognized with the Ambassador of Golf Award is truly an honor, and I’m proud to support the meaningful work being done here in Northeast Ohio.”
Organizers selected the 59-year-old for his impact on the sport and involvement in charitable efforts.
Organizers from Northern Ohio Golf Charities & Foundation and Kaulig Companies pointed to John Daly’s support for causes related to children, military families, and individuals facing health challenges.
