Jordan Spieth has joined the National Junior Tour Powered by Under Armour (Tour) as an investor and brand ambassador.

“Spieth, a longtime Under Armour athlete since turning professional in 2013, will take an active role in the National Junior Tour’s growth initiatives, competitive structure and player development programs,” according to a release by the tour.

The partnership represents a significant milestone for the tour, uniting one of golf’s most respected players with the fastest-growing junior golf tour in America, according to the tour.

“Under Armour has always redefined what athletes can achieve while investing in the future of the game and I’m proud to support that mission by partnering with the National Junior Tour,” said Spieth. “My junior golf experience was fundamental not only to my development as a golfer but also as a person, and I’m excited to create opportunities for young players to compete at a high level while learning the values that make golf such a special sport.”

The Tour is a premier competitive platform for junior golfers ages 6-18, welcoming over 7,500 youth athletes each year. That is something the Tour says reflects “Under Armour’s ongoing commitment to expanding access and raising the level of play for junior golfers.”

The focus is on development and opportunity.

“Jordan Spieth embodies everything we stand for at the National Junior Tour,” said Ray Taranto, founder and President of the National Junior Tour. “His commitment to excellence, integrity, and giving back to the game makes him the perfect partner to shape the future of the sport. Together with UA’s performance leadership, we are equipping young golfers to lead the future of junior golf by delivering comprehensive development and competitive opportunities.”

As part of the partnership, Spieth will contribute to the tour’s player development efforts, attend select events, and provide content and experiences for tour members.

“The Jordan Spieth Family Foundation will also award scholarships to select National Junior Tour participants, helping remove financial barriers for talented young golfers. Under Armour’s integration of performance apparel and footwear specifically engineered for junior athletes will further support their confidence and competitive edge throughout the season,” according to the Tour.

It’s a match made in heaven, according to Under Armour.

“Jordan has always embodied the values that drive Under Armour – resilience, focus, and a deep desire to elevate others,” said Sean Eggert, SVP of Global Brand Marketing at Under Armour. “His expanded role with the National Junior Tour allows us to make an even greater impact at the grassroots level, giving young athletes access to world-class competition, mentorship, and performance innovation as they grow in the game.”
