Jordan Spieth gave a group of spectators a massive scare during the final round of the Memorial Tournament on Sunday.
Spieth had himself near the top of the leaderboard after three rounds of the Memorial Tournament at Muirfield Golf Village in Dublin, Ohio. He hit his first tee shot of the day on Sunday way right of the fairway, and the ball settled in some deep rough on a slope.
Spieth had to play the ball from a tough lie right next to the gallery. He mishit his shot and the ball just barely missed hitting at least one fan in the head.

That could have ended very, very badly.
Spieth was aiming way left of where the shot ended up going. It is rare for a pro to miss by that wide of a margin, but the lie left him with an unpredictable shot. In hindsight, the gallery probably should have been backed up further.
Spieth’s heart must have been pounding after that one, but he still managed to save par.
