Pro golfer Jordan Spieth didn't have the Travelers Championship he had hoped for in mid-June.

He withdrew from the tournament due to a neck injury, and it has left him on a hiatus ever since. Now, fans are getting an update on his injury and whether wife Annie Veret's third-trimester pregnancy will impact his play at the 153rd Open Championship at the Royal Portrush Golf Club in County Antrim, Northern Ireland, from July 17-20.

Spieth shared the news on the Up & Adams Show with Kay Adams about the state of his recovery.

“I’m good,” he explained. “It was a weird neck spasm thing that just came up, and I just could not get through the round. It was a strange deal. I have a good team here that I work with, and I knew it was going to be short-lived, and it was only a few days."

The 31-year-old athlete revealed that his health is back on track and he's ready to tee off. “I have been back to full strength getting ready for The Open Championship next week, our last major of the year, and then the play-offs after that. A lot of big events left, but I have no restrictions, which is great."

Even though he's raring to go, Spieth noted that his home life will be a top priority ahead of his game. “Yes, I will be at The Open Championship. I am going to be a bit of a late arrival, but I will be there. Luckily, I played The Open at this course in Northern Ireland six years ago, so I won’t feel like I will have to learn a new place. But just trying to get all the work in before baby comes and make sure everybody is good, and then I will head overseas.”

So, fans shouldn't question his whereabouts in the week leading up to the Open Championship; he will be making sure his wife and newborn are OK after the delivery. The couple are already proud parents of two children, son Sammy, 3, and daughter Sophie, 1. Spieth and Veret are high school sweethearts who got engaged in 2017 and married in 2018.

The Full Swing cast member credits his wife for being his rock, whether he's at his peak or working his way through a golfing slump.

"She's just been that person that said, 'Whatever you need to do, I'm here to support you, let me know how I can help, let me know when too much is too much, let me know when it's not enough," he praised Veret in April 2021 at the Valero Texas Open press conference, per Golf Magazine. "She's been really unbelievable."
