However, Spieth firmly believes he is on the cusp of rediscovering his best form.

His driving hasn’t been good enough this year and his iron play needs to be sharper, while his streaky putting can let him down at times.

The three-time major winner has been very close to contending this year, but he hasn’t quite managed to put everything together so far.

Spieth sat down to speak with SiriusXM PGA TOUR Radio ahead of the Truist Championship this week.

The 32-year-old American responded when asked how he honestly feels about how his swing is shaping up right now.

“Yeah, I like to call it, kind of my DNA. Like, what do I do that’s really unique to me? Because you can’t try to swing it like somebody else, their bodies are built differently,“ Spieth said.

“Also, the way you learn how to play the game, whether it looks pretty or not.

“There are quite drastic differences between ’13 and ’15, they were both great ball-striking years. So, what makes them unique? How do we tap into that now and what is the path forward?

“I had a good healthy off-season.

“This year, I feel like I have progressed a little bit. I have pretty much led in each category at different times, but I just haven’t quite put it all together to win a golf tournament.

“But I feel really good about where things are at and where they are going.“

So, the one thing that is holding Spieth back from winning, according to the man himself, is his inability to put all parts of his game together on any given week.

With the PGA Championship just around the corner, it would be real poetic justice if Spieth managed to lock down each department of his game and won the Wanamaker trophy.

In doing so, he would become only the seventh man in the history of the game to complete the career Grand Slam.

Not many golf fans envisage that happening but, crucially, there is one man who definitely does believe that it can happen, and that man is Spieth himself.

It will be very interesting to watch the three-time major champion in action this week at the Truist Championship to see whether his game really is rounding nicely into form ahead of the second major of the 2026 season.
