Brian Campbell picked up his second win of the 2025 PGA Tour season at the John Deere Classic, and with it, USA Ryder Cup captain Keegan Bradley has another big decision to make.
Campbell held off Emiliano Grillo in a playoff at the John Deere Classic to go two-for-two in playoffs this year, continuing a quietly impressive run of form.
He isn’t the most high-profile name on Tour, but the American is getting the job done more efficiently than some bigger names.
While Collin Morikawa and Patrick Cantlay continue to struggle for wins but still remain in Ryder Cup conversations, Campbell keeps building his case through results.
After another jump up the rankings, Keegan Bradley is being urged to take a closer look at Campbell and other risers in the mix for the U.S. team.
Ryder Cup spots remain wide open, with only a handful of players considered locks alongside captain Keegan Bradley, who is dealing with questions about his own form.
Brian Campbell’s case has been strengthened by his playoff wins, which have not come out of nowhere. That consistency is starting to matter in the eyes of observers.
Taking to X, golf journalist Jason Sobel highlighted why Campbell’s form can’t be ignored.
Brian Campbell a fascinating litmus test for Keegan Bradley and what he wants for RC team. With two wins — two more than Xander, Cantlay and Morikawa combined — he might “deserve” a spot considering how much value the captain places on winning, but a poor course fit for Bethpage.

It’s also worth remembering that winning is something the Ryder Cup captain has said matters to him – a point Sobel followed up on.
“Y’all some bad readers today. No, I’m not saying Brian Campbell should be on the team. Or that he will. But this sparks the annual debate between results and potential.” he said. “Who ‘deserves’ it against who can help the team win. Especially since Keegan placed such emphasis on winning.”
Right now, the only American player officially qualified is world number one, Scottie Scheffler. The current top five beyond him are expected to make the team, but nothing is locked in yet.
At the moment, the American rankings are as follows:
Rank | Player | Points |
1 | Scottie Scheffler* | 25918.25 |
2 | Xander Schauffele | 11905.84 |
3 | Bryson DeChambeau | 10318.00 |
4 | Justin Thomas | 9457.69 |
5 | Collin Morikawa | 9167.77 |
6 | Russell Henley | 8677.80 |
Campbell is climbing quickly, as shown by how a few good results can move someone like Russell Henley into the mix.
For Keegan Bradley, these next few months will be pivotal as he shapes a team that could define his legacy as captain.
