It's been a solid couple of days at Augusta as the weather has practically been perfect. But one golfer believes that the conditions just aren't good enough.

Taking to X this morning, longtime golfer Lee Westwood said that the conditions are a little too good and perhaps resulting in outrageously good scores. Westwood himself hasn't qualified for the Masters since 2022. He finished top-10 six times, and was the runner-up twice.

"Still looks a bit too receptive out there for a Saturday at the (Masters)," Westwood wrote on X.

Taking Advantage

Fans couldn't help but admit that the softer greens are making it extremely easy for golfers to put up scores that would be nearly impossible in many other years:

"Rory will shoot 30 under par in these conditions. I will watch it but I don’t like it," one user remarked in Westwood's replies.

"Watching the featured pairings and I totally agree. Was hoping for slick surfaces with that glassy look but it’s moving day," wrote another.

"Yeah honest question for someone who has played in plenty of Masters…Why did they butcher this set up so terribly and decide to turn it into a Byron Nelson birdie fest?" a third asked.

The proof is in the pudding pretty early on. Rory McIlroy ended the first two rounds with the same score that he won the entire tournament with. Nearly a dozen other golfers have scores that would have ended them in the top-10 last year.

And that's to say nothing of how much better the scores are looking than 2024, when an even par over four rounds would have been good enough for a top-10 finish.
