Six-time PGA Tour winner and fan favorite Rickie Fowler withdrew from the WM Phoenix Open on Friday morning, roughly two hours before he was set to play alongside Billy Horschel and Sahith Theegala in the second round.
The PGA Tour and Golf Channel broadcast reported the 36-year-old is dealing with an illness, including a 103-degree fever and flu-like symptoms.

Fowler was the talk of TPC Scottsdale on Thursday afternoon, but unfortunately, it wasn't because of his play on the golf course. Instead, the 2019 WM Phoenix Open winner drew loads of attention for donning a peculiar all-camouflage outfit en route to shooting 3-over 74 in the opening round.

This week's WM Phoenix Open was Fowler's third start of the 2025 PGA Tour season, finishing T21 at The American Express and T53 at the AT&T Pebble-Beach Pro-Am. He also appeared in New York Golf Club's first two TGL matches, recording one total point in the club's losses to The Bay GC and Atlanta Drive GC.
