Scottie Scheffler roared back to claim the BMW Championship title and a $3.6 million prize, finishing at 15-under par at Caves Valley Golf Club.
The world’s No. 1 golfer overcame a four-shot deficit on Sunday to Scotland’s Robert MacIntyre, who led after each of the first three rounds with sizzling scores of 62, 64, and a third-round 66.
Scheffler’s final-round 67, capped by a stunning chip-in birdie on the 17th, reminiscent of Tiger Woods' iconic chip-in at the 2005 Masters, secured a two-shot victory over MacIntyre, who struggled to a 73 on Sunday.
Scheffler’s comeback was a masterclass in resilience. MacIntyre, who dazzled with six straight birdies to end his opening round Thursday, faltered early on Sunday with three bogeys in the first five holes, allowing Scheffler to completely erase the lead by the seventh hole.
A critical moment came at the par-3 17th, where Scheffler’s pinpoint pitch from the rough rolled into the hole, crushing MacIntyre’s hopes and extending his lead to two.
The victory, Scheffler’s 18th on the PGA Tour, propels him into the Tour Championship as the FedExCup favorite, eyeing the $10 million bonus.
His season earnings now exceed $24 million, reflecting his dominance with five wins in 2025, including two majors. Despite MacIntyre’s commanding lead through 54 holes, Scheffler’s relentless pressure and clutch play proved decisive.
Maverick McNealy took third place at 11-under par, while Tommy Fleetwood and Sam Burns tied for fourth place at 10-under par. With the Tour championship East Lake looming, golf’s top dog is poised for more glory.
