The past week or so has been extremely eventful for 15-time major winner Tiger Woods.

He hasn't competed in a PGA Tour event since March of 2024 and hasn't played competitively since last March during the TGL season. Despite his time away from golf as he recovers from injuries, Woods has been able to make an impact away from the sport.

Upon celebrating his 50th birthday recently, Woods announced on Thursday that he, along with Atlanta Falcons owner Arthur Blank and his foundation, the Blank Foundation, will be bringing a TGR lab to Atlanta.

"I’m excited to partner with my friend Arthur Blank and the @BlankFoundation to bring a TGR Learning Lab to Atlanta," Woods wrote. "Together, we’ll build on my @TGRFound’s impact over the last 30 years and provide more students in Atlanta with opportunities to learn, grow, and chase after their dreams."

As shared in a release by the Blank Foundation, TGR Learning Labs are predicated on giving students in under-resourced communities the chance to pursue interests through education.

"With a commitment to providing opportunities that unlock the unlimited potential in the lives of young people from under-resourced communities, its mission is to empower students to pursue their passions through education," read the statement.

The labs focus on science, technology, engineering, the arts and math, while preparing students for college and careers upon completion of their studies. In a tremendously generous move, Blank's foundation provided a $20 million grant to help launch the Atlanta location.

At this time, the TGR Learning Lab Atlanta is expected to open in 2027.
