What are the odds Bryson DeChambeau is picked for Ryder Cup US Team?

Now that the month of August is well underway, the golf world has turned a lot of its attention to Zach Johnson and who he will select for the U.S. Ryder Cup team -- and whether any of those players will come from LIV Golf.

The latest player to join that conversation is Bryson DeChambeau, who won his first LIV Golf event last weekend after shooting an astounding round of 58. It was a monumental feat for the long-drive specialist who faded from dominance in his couple of seasons prior to joining Greg Norman's Saudi Arabia-funded golf league but has had a pep in his step since finishing T4 at the PGA Championship.

Not surprisingly, fans of the breakaway league are now calling for captain Johnson to select DeChambeau for the U.S. Team following last weekend's performance at LIV Golf Greenbrier. But what are the chances he actually makes the team?

According to Data Golf, DeChambeau has roughly a 22% chance of making the U.S. Team, which would be a +355 (39-11) in American betting odds. To give context, the LIV Golf player with the best odds to make the team is Brooks Koepka, who has a -113 (8-9) chance of making the team since he currently qualifies as a top-six automatic pick for the team.

Johnson has six captain's picks for the team, which will be announced in about a month, and the inclusion of LIV Golf players is still an unknown even with the possibility of the rogue league merging into the PGA Tour. The captain said earlier this year he would not include LIV Golf players on his team, but Koepka qualifying after his PGA Championship win has made things very interesting.

DeChambeau himself tried to play it cool over the weekend and said he would be fine whether or not Johnson selected him.

"You couldn't have written it up better than this, but if I do get a call, that would be awesome. If not, I'll be rooting them on over in Rome," DeChambeau said over the weekend, via Golf Monthly

DeChambeau can't move in the Ryder Cup standings since LIV Golf events don't qualify for points, so his best bet is to wow Johnson at the final LIV event on Aug. 11.

Qualification for the top six in the U.S. Team concludes on August 20. Johnson is expected to announce his six additional captain's picks at the beginning of September.
