A 15-year-old baseball prospect has gone viral after being shown throwing 97 mph.

Striker Pence is a freshman at Santiago High School in Corona, California, and ranked as one of the top prospects in the 2028 recruiting class. He is a standout hitter and pitcher, but people are blown away that a kid is throwing 97 mph at age 15.

Santiago beat Dana Hills 4-1 on Wednesday in their season opener. During that game, Pence recorded his first career varsity strikeout and save. The radar gun on the scoreboard also showed him throwing 97 mph.

That’s pretty ridiculous for a 15-year-old. Pence also smashed a two-run double to the opposite field gap in the win.

The kid had some serious talent.

If he’s throwing 97 mph as a freshman, will he be at Paul Skenes levels come his senior year?

And for those asking about the kid’s last name, yes, his uncle is former four-time MLB All-Star Hunter Pence.
