OBS 2024 Spring Sale Catalog Now Online

The catalog for the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Company’s 2024 Spring Sale of 2-Year-Olds in Training is now available via the OBS website at obssales.com.

A total of 1,207 juveniles have been cataloged for the four-day sale, now set for Tuesday through Friday, April 16 – 19. All sessions will begin at 10:30 a.m.

• Hip No 1 – 302 will sell Tuesday, April 16
• Hip No. 303 – 604 will be sold Wednesday, April 17
• Hip No. 605 – 906 will sell Thursday, April 18
• Hip No. 907 – 1208 will be sold Friday, April 19

The Under Tack Show will be divided into seven sessions, set for Sunday through Saturday, April 7 – April 13, all beginning at 8 a.m.

Zedan Racing Stables, Inc.’s Arabian Knight is a two-time graded stakes winner, taking Del Mar’s $1-million Grade 1 Pacific Classic Stakes in frontrunning style. The Uncle Mo colt, trained by Bob Baffert, has compiled a 5-3-0-1 record and has earned $1,544,275. He was purchased by Gary Young on behalf of Zedan Racing for a sale-topping $2.3-million out of the Top Line Sales consignment at the 2022 OBS Spring Sale after breezing an Under Tack eighth in :9 4/5.

Bob Baffert also trains Zedan Racing’s Arabian Lion, winner of the $400,000 G1 Woody Stephens Stakes at Belmont Park. The colt by Justify, a two-time graded stakes winner, is now 9-3-2-1 and has earned $498,100. He was purchased for $600,000 out of the Hidden Brook consignment at the 2022 OBS Spring Sale after turning in an Under Tack eighth in :10 flat.

Natalie J. Baffert and Debbie Lanni’s Du Jour crossed the million-dollar mark with his recent victory in the Santa Anita’s $300,000 G1 Frank E. Kilroe Mile Stakes at Santa Anita. It was the third graded win for the son of Temple City, trained by Bob Baffert, now 17-6-3-2 career record with $1,118,220 in earnings. At the 2020 OBS Spring Sale, he breezed an Under Tack eighth in :10 1/5 and was purchased for $280,000 out of the Off the Hook consignment by Donato Lanni, Agent.

Pierre Jean Amestoy, Jr., Leslie A. Amestoy and Roger K. Beasley’s Practical Move was a three-time graded stakes winner, the last a victory in the G1 Santa Anita Derby for trainer Tim Yakteen. The 2022 OBS Spring Sale graduate, purchased for $230,000 out of the Eisaman Equine consignment after turning in an Under Tack eighth in :10 1/5, had an 8-5-1-2 record and earned $923,200 at the races.

FMQ Stables’ Saudi Crown was a wire-to-wire winner of the $1-million G1 Pennsylvania Derby at Parx in September for trainer Brad Cox. The son of Always Dreaming, 8-4-2-1 with $2,982,085 in earnings, consigned by Top Line Sales LLC, Agent to the 2022 OBS Spring Sale, was sold for $240,000 after breezing an Under Tack eighth in :10 flat.
