Steelers' Coaching Staff Benches Zach Frazier After Poor Training Camp Performance

The Pittsburgh Steelers are officially in the full swing of things in training camp. With many new pieces on both sides of the ball, it will take a lot of time and effort for this team to build chemistry collectively, especially with quarterback Aaron Rodgers being known for having some very tough demands of his team. This is the time to get all the mistakes out and start playing ball the right way. It is also the time to get on Rodgers' good side, so he's more willing to utilize certain weapons as the season goes on. However, there is one player that has already had some early errors. According to Mike DeFabo, second-year center Zach Frazier was benched at the beginning of the "Seven Shots" drill on Saturday for having issues with snapping. This was the second Seven Shots drill of the 2025 training camp so far, and it's the second time that the drill opened up with a bad snap. The first time, the offense was given a mulligan as Rodgers could not field the ball. This time, however, the ball was considered live, and the quarterback just had to throw it away to give the defense a point. It sounds like Frazier got benched immediately after that first play, with Ryan McCollum taking over first-team reps. That bad snap was very costly for the offense, as the defense won 4-3. In the NFL, you can't be giving up plays like that, and that's why Frazier was taken out. Frazier had issues with snapping the ball early in the 2024 season as well, as multiple plays were aborted because of that. The most notable time was in Week 4 against the Indianapolis Colts, when the Steelers were looking to complete the comeback on a potential game-tying or game-winning drive. He snapped the ball past Justin Fields, and having to deal with 2nd and 22 essentially ended the game. Steelers Likely Won't Keep Zach Frazier Benched For Long As the 2024 season rolled on, Frazier became more and more consistent, and he became one of the best centers in the NFL according to numerous analysts. He looked like the franchise snapper that Pittsburgh has desperately needed ever since Maurkice Pouncey retired. If he can rebound from that, he can rebound from training camp mistakes easily. Frazier is still expected to be the starter for the 2025 season. He probably just needed a strong reminder that those kinds of mistakes are not acceptable and will not be tolerated. He will get plenty of chances to get back to midseason form from 2024 again, and he will be able to work with Rodgers some more. He just can't let those issues creep into the regular season like he did his rookie year. In the end, things can and will get better. Frazier is still young and has shown his elite upside in his rookie year. It's not even August yet. He has lots of time to knock the rust off and get back to making perfect snaps 100% of the time. McCollum may be a nice backup, but hopefully he won't be needed. It's time for the former second-round pick to mature and get right.

Aaron Boone Breaks Silence With 2-Word Update on Aaron Judge

The New York Yankees have had an up-and-down season throughout the 2025 campaign thus far. At this point in the season with the MLB trade deadline just a few days away, the team holds a 56-47 record. With that record, the Yankees are in second place in the race for the American League East division race. They are now 5.5 games behind the Toronto Blue Jays and have lost two straight games. Unfortunately, some very concerning news has come up regarding superstar outfielder Aaron Judge. Judge will be missing Saturday's game against the Philadelphia Phillies due to an elbow injury. There is still no telling just how serious the injury is, but there is obvious concern within the organization. Aaron Boone, New York's manager, offered a highly disturbing two-word update about Judge. “Obviously concerned,” Boone said. He also revealed that Judge will be undergoing imaging to determine the extent of the injury. Should Judge be forced to miss any significant amount of time due to the elbow injury, the Yankees would take a major hit. They no longer have a backup superstar like Juan Soto to take over the load that Judge carries. Throughout the 2025 MLB season thus far, Judge has played in 103 games and has played at an insanely high level. He has hit 37 home runs to go along with 85 RBI's, while also slashing .342/.449/.711. Those numbers are irreplaceable for New York. Expect to hear more concrete news about Judge in the near future. He is undergoing testing, but Boone's comments about being extremely concerned are not going to help Yankees fans find peace until the results are known.

Denny Hamlin suffers vicious crash in Brickyard 400 qualifying

The favorite to win Sunday's Brickyard 400 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway will have quite a mountain to climb. Denny Hamlin, who was fastest in practice at IMS on Saturday and is searching for his first Brickyard 400 win, suffered a vicious impact during Saturday's NASCAR Cup Series qualifying session. Hamlin was the last car to make a lap during the session, but the No. 11 Toyota broke loose on the exit of turn 2. After tapping the outside wall, he spun into the grass before making hard contact with the inside wall. Hamlin did not produce a qualifying time and will be forced to go to a backup car for Sunday's race. The 58-time Cup Series winner will start last (39th) on Sunday. Hamlin did climb out of the car after the accident. Meanwhile, his Joe Gibbs Racing teammate, Chase Briscoe, secured the pole position for Sunday's race. The top five in qualifying were swept by Toyota, with 23XI Racing's Bubba Wallace joining Briscoe on the front row. The Brickyard 400 will go green shortly after 2 p.m. ET on Sunday, with coverage on TNT, the IMS Radio Network and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.

Warriors still positioning themselves for Giannis Antetokounmpo blockbuster

Things have largely gone cold on the Giannis Antetokounmpo trade front, but that does not mean teams are not thinking of the possibility of that changing. Tim Kawakami of the San Francisco Standard noted that the Warriors are being cautious in negotiations with restricted free agent Jonathan Kuminga, as he could be possible trade bait if Antetokounmpo is traded by the Milwaukee Bucks. The Warriors are adamant about not giving away Kuminga for less than his full trade value, which is why his situation remains unresolved with August looming. Kuminga and the Warriors have yet to agree on a contract, and it remains unclear when the situation will be resolved. He has a $7.9 million qualifying offer on the table, and signing it would allow him to approve any trade he is involved in. If he signs a multiyear extension, he would not be eligible to be traded until January, which could complicate things if Antetokounmpo decides late in the offseason that he wants a move. Presumably, Kuminga would be a key part of any trade the Warriors make involving Antetokounmpo. However, with no market materializing, there seems to be a growing chance he could remain with the team next season. The former No. 7 overall pick averaged 15.3 points, 4.6 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 0.8 steals per game last season. He appeared in 47 games, making 10 starts and averaging 24.3 minutes per game. However, he has been unable to consistently lock down a major spot in coach Steve Kerr’s rotation, which reportedly led to some tension between the two last season. Antetokounmpo, meanwhile, still seems unlikely to be traded, but teams are still going to prepare for the possibility.
