For a record 71st time in his NTT IndyCar Series career, Will Power will lead the field to the green flag.
Power nipped his Team Penske teammate, Scott McLaughlin, for the pole position by just over a 10th-and-a-half, scoring his fifth career pole at Gateway.

Penske has won two of the last three IndyCar races at Gateway and now has a lock on the front row for Sunday's Bommarito Automotive Group 500.
The pole is also the 700th for a Roger Penske-owned race team across all forms of motorsports.
McLaughlin, Pato O'Ward, David Malukas and Josef Newgarden rounded out the top five, with Marcus Armstrong, Felix Rosenqvist, Colton Herta, Alex Palou and Kyle Kirkwood completing the top 10.
Other notable qualifiers include six-time IndyCar champion Scott Dixon in 11th, Christian Lundgaard in 14th, Santino Ferrucci in 19th, Graham Rahal in 22nd and Indianapolis 500 pole winner Robert Shwartzman in 24th.
Sunday's Bommarito Automotive Group 500 at Gateway will go green shortly after 8 p.m. ET, with coverage on FOX and the IndyCar Radio Network. Newgarden is the defending winner, while Power led 117 laps in last year's running before a late tangle with Alexander Rossi took him out of contention.
