After balancing work and daily responsibilities, many people simply do not have the time or energy for intense training routines. Fortunately, Christine McGuinness recently shared her full-body workout routine, and it is manageable even for people with busy schedules.
Best known as one of the standout personalities from The Real Housewives of Cheshire, McGuinness’ personal fitness routine is easy and sustainable. Here are five simple moves that one can incorporate into their fitness routine for full-body strength.
The key to training well with good results without spending hours at the gym is targeting multiple muscles at once. One of her go-to moves is single-leg bodyweight hip thrusts, targeting the glutes, quads, and hamstrings.
For the upper and middle back, she recommends dumbbell bent-over rows. Interestingly, this easy move also targets the biceps, along with the lats and rhomboids.
Core strength is essential, and McGuinness uses a medicine ball to perform Russian twists for that. Along with building abs and obliques, the move also improves rotational control.
When it’s about cardio and full-body strength, she opts for rowing machine intervals. Finally, to round off the workout, she takes part in explosive kettlebell swings that target the muscles of her back, while her hips are engaged.
She herself keeps her training routine flexible.
“I like to do a variation of cardio, HIIT and weights,” she told Women Fitness in an interview in 2024. “I don’t stick to a routine; I do whatever I’m in the mood for that day. “On days that I feel like doing nothing I will pop the baby in the pram and go for a long walk so I am still doing some gentle exercise.”
Beyond sharing her training routine, McGuinness has earned praise from fans for being open, authentic, and easy to relate to.
McGuinness is known for creating a buzz on social media with her honesty and transparency, and does not shy away from sharing personal revelations.
She touched many hearts worldwide during her heartfelt journey of self-discovery, talking candidly about her autism and personal relationships.
As reported by The Mirror in 2021, McGuinness shared that she often sticks to “sensory safe” foods after she and her three children were diagnosed with autism. Her diet frequently includes simple foods such as bread, plain pasta, and chicken.
However, occasionally McGuinness indulges in her sweet cravings.
“I do have a sweet tooth,” she told Women Fitness. “I allow myself treats in moderation, mainly weekends. When I’m craving sugar I reach for the fruit bowl or a mixed veg and fruit smoothie.”
Other than following her training routine and a diet, she lives by a very straightforward wellness philosophy. She takes part in exercises that she enjoys.
“Love your body whilst you’re working for the one that you want,” McGuinness said, living by this philosophy.
She also recently launched her own fitness and nutrition platform on Instagram to help women get into the fitness journey.
