As the Chicago White Sox celebrate their 125th season in Major League Baseball, the team will also celebrate the 20th anniversary of their World Series Championship in 2005. A weekend homestand, July 11-13, will see celebrations featuring a statue unveiling, giveaways, and appearances from several members of the iconic 2005 team.

The weekend festivities will start off Friday, July 11th, with a statue unveiling for former pitcher Mark Buehrle. The first 15,000 fans in attendance will also receive a commemorative 2005 champs Hawaiian shirt. The Friday game will also feature Gate 5 plaza activations and postgame fireworks.
The formal reunion will be held on Saturday, July 12, with the majority of the 2005 team in attendance. The Saturday game will include Gate 5 plaza activations, an exclusive pregame patio party and photograph event, and a pregame ceremony honoring the 2005 team. The first 15,000 fans 21+ will receive a Mark Buehrle replica statue.
Fans can purchase pregame photograph packages that include access to the pregame patio party. Four photo package options allow fans to take photos with certain players. Package 1 features Mark Buehrle and Scott Podsednik. Package 2 features Ozzie Guillen and Freddy Garcia. The third package features World Series MVP Jermaine Dye and Jon Garland. Package 4 features Paul Konerko and Jose Contreras. Autographs will not be allowed.
Several coaches and broadcasters from the '05 team are scheduled to appear through the weekend. The coaches include Ozzie Guillen, Harold Baines, Greg Walker, and Herm Schneider. Broadcasters Hawk Harrelson, Darrin Jackson, and John Rooney are also scheduled to appear.
A long list of players are also scheduled to appear. Pitchers include Jon Garland, Dustin Hermanson, Freddy Garcia, Cliff Politte, Neal Cotts, Jose Contreras, and Mark Buehrle. A.J. Pierzynski, Chris Widger, Juan Uribe, Paul Konerko, Tadahito Iguchi, Joe Crede, Geoff Blum, Pablo Ozuna, Timo Perez, Scott Podsednik, Jermaine Dye, Carl Everett, and Brian Anderson highlight the position player group.
Notable players not scheduled to appear currently include Aaron Rowand, Bobby Jenks, Willie Harris, Frank Thomas and Orlando Hernandez. Former pitching coach Don Cooper and third base coach Joey Cora are also not listed as an attendees at this time and neither is former General Manager Kenny Williams. All attendees are listed as subject to change.
The celebration will be capped off on Sunday, as the iconic starting rotation that threw 4 consecutive complete games in the ALCS will throw out the ceremonial first pitch. The first 10,000 fans in attendance will receive a bobblehead that commemorates Buehrle, Garland, Garcia and Contreras.
Plenty of tickets are still available through Ticketmaster for all three games. With a strong turnout from team members, it figures to be an unforgettable weekend on the south side.
