Aside from being without Alec Bohm, the Phillies also had to play without Bryson Stott for parts of their game on August 23. Stott was removed with an injury, which was one of several injury-related notes from the day.

Pages underwent surgery

Dodgers outfielder Andy Pages had surgery on his fractured hand, per manager Dave Roberts. Pages had a compression screw inserted to help speed up his recovery.

The All-Star is looking at a four-to-five-week absence.

Stott dealing with foot injury

Phillies infielder Bryson Stott was diagnosed with a right foot contusion. Stott was removed after he fouled a ball off his foot.

X-rays on Stott’s foot came back negative.

IL moves

Diamondbacks pitcher Michael Soroka is back on the injured list, as the right-hander is now sidelined with right arm inflammation.

Yankees pitcher Ryan Weathers, one day after he was removed from his outing against Toronto, landed on the IL with a left forearm flexor strain.

The Cardinals placed outfielder Everson Pereira on the 10-day IL with a left hand contusion.

Reds first baseman Michael Toglia was placed on the 10-day IL with a dislocated right shoulder.

Brendan Donovan (Mariners) and Kyle Karros (Rockies) were placed on the 7-day IL with a concussion.

Rehab assignments

Two MLB pitchers faced one another in Gwinnett, as Griffin Jax (Rays) and Reynaldo Lopez (Braves) both rehabbed down in Triple-A. Jax tossed three innings and 42 pitches, allowing three earned runs for the Bulls. Lopez, meanwhile, struck out three over four scoreless innings (50 pitches).

Jax averaged 95 MPH, while Lopez averaged 94 MPH on his fastball.

Felix Bautista was back on the mound in an in-game setting for the Orioles. With Double-A Chesapeake, Bautista walked three, allowed one hit, and was charged with three earned runs over 0.1 IP. He threw 22 pitches in total.

Red Sox outfielder Roman Anthony went 0-for-3 with a strikeout for Double-A Portland.

Mets first baseman Mark Vientos went 0-for-3 for Double-A Binghamton.
