2026 Injury Report: Updates on Carroll, Javier, Holmes

The Mets are already down Juan Soto and Jorge Polanco from their lineup. Now, the team must contend with a notable injury on the other side. Clay Holmes, who’s been very good for the Mets thus far this season, was removed from his start against the A’s on April 10.

Holmes leaves start

Mets starter Clay Holmes was removed from his start against the Athletics in the sixth inning due to a hamstring injury.

Per an official team announcement, he was diagnosed with left hamstring tightness.

Carroll misses another game

Diamondbacks outfielder Corbin Carroll was out of the lineup again on April 10, as he is dealing with a minor hip injury.

The good news is that Carroll stated that he expects to return to the lineup on April 11 (h/t MLB.com).

IL placements

The Astros placed Cristian Javier on the injured list with a Grade 2 right shoulder strain. Additionally, Jake Meyers landed on the IL with a Grade 2 oblique strain.

Brent Rooker, who was injured on April 9 against the Yankees, was placed on the IL with an oblique strain.

Griffin Conine is on the IL with a left hamstring strain.

Padres reliever Jeremiah Estrada is on the IL with right elbow tendinitis.

Tigers outfielder Parker Meadows is on the injured list with a broken arm and concussion.

Cubs reliever Phil Maton is now on the IL with right knee tendinitis.

Other news

Kyle Stowers went 0-3 with two strikeouts for Triple-A Jacksonville, where he was assigned to begin his rehab assignment on April 10.

Hunter Goodman (finger) remained out on April 10.

Astros pitcher Ronel Blanco was transferred to the 60-day IL.

Seiya Suzuki and Jason Adam were activated off the injured list.
