
It’s been a tough slog for Corbin Carroll in 2026, who’s been great on the field but has had to deal with injuries. He added another one to the list on April 19, as Carroll had to exit the game against the Blue Jays thanks to a back injury.
Diamondbacks outfielder Corbin Carroll left his team’s game on April 19 due to lower-back tightness, per the team.
Carroll stated after the team that he feels good and that if he had to play now, he would be good to do so.
Mets manager Carlos Mendoza confirmed that Juan Soto is on track to return during the team’s upcoming nine-game homestand (h/t Newsday).
Soto has been on the IL with a calf injury sustained in San Francisco earlier this month.
Athletics manager Mark Kotsay told the media on the 19th that OF/DH Brent Rooker has resumed light baseball activities.
Rooker suffered an oblique injury in New York back on April 10 and went on the IL shortly thereafter.
Phillies pitcher Zack Wheeler struck out four over four innings (77 pitches) for Double-A Reading against the Yankees’ Double-A affiliate. Wheeler gave up two home runs, one to Tyler Hardman and the other to George Lombard Jr.
Anthony Volpe also played in that game. Volpe went 2-4 for Somerset.
Rays reliever Garrett Cleavinger walked three and surrended three earned runs for Triple-A Durham. He only went a third of an inning.
Also in that game, Orioles reliever Andrew Kittredge surrendered six hits and four earned runs for Norfolk against the Bulls. Kittredge struck out two, the only two outs he recorded.
Brewers pitcher Craig Yoho walked one but tossed a scoreless inning for Triple-A Nashville.
Brendan Donovan (hip) and Daulton Varsho (knee) did not play on the 19th.
The Marlins activated Kyle Stowers from the 10-day IL.
