
Eury Perez is no stranger to injuries — but the one that occurred to him on May 27 was bizarre. Perez’s early departure was one of several on the day, as Kenley Jansen & Teoscar Hernandez also suffered blows.
After a tense, yet strong four innings from Eury Perez against the Blue Jays, he did not come back out for the fifth due to a hamstring injury. He will undergo imaging, per the team (h/t MLB.com).
Perez was seen stretching out in the dugout before the bottom of the fifth. However, he grimaced in pain upon sitting down and ultimately had to be helped down to the locker room.
Tigers reliever Kenley Jansen was removed from the team’s game against the Angels.
Jansen left with a groin injury with two outs in the ninth, after he walked Mike Trout.
Dodgers outfielder Teoscar Hernandez was removed from the May 27 game against Colorado after he suffered a hamstring strain.
Hernandez grabbed his left leg after he landed on first base when he grounded out to short in the early stages of the game.
Just days after Enrique Hernandez came off the injured list, the Dodgers infielder was placed on the 10-day IL with a left oblique strain. Hernandez had just four at-bats after he returned from offseason elbow surgery, all of which resulted in hits.
Angels first baseman Nolan Schanuel was placed on the IL with left ankle inflammation.
The Blue Jays transferred Alejandro Kirk (thumb fracture) and Jose Berrios (elbow) to the 60-day IL. Meanwhile, the Rays shifted Gavin Lux (shoulder) to the 60-day IL.
Astros reliever Josh Hader gave up three hits, one of which was a home run, over one inning for Triple-A Sugar Land. He averaged 94 MPH and topped out at 95 MPH.
Also in that game, Joey Loperfido went 1-2 with two walks for Sugar Land.
Mets infielder Jorge Polanco went 1-2 with a strikeout for Double-A Binghamton.
Rangers infielder Ezequiel Duran missed Texas’ game on May 27 due to illness.
Brandon Marsh (finger) did not play on the 27th.
