Presently, the Brewers are without Jackson Chourio thanks to an injury sustained in the WBC. Now, Milwaukee may have to contend with Christian Yelich potentially missing time. Yelich was one of several notable players to sustain an injury on April 12.
Brewers outfielder Christian Yelich departed the team’s game on April 12 with a hamstring injury.
It was originally diagnosed with left hamstring tightness (h/t Milwaukee Journal Sentinel). However, manager Pat Murphy indicated after the Brewers’ game against the Nationals that the team was expecting bad news on Yelich’s hamstring.
The Padres removed pitcher Nick Pivetta from his start on April 12 against the Rockies in the fourth inning. He threw three scoreless before his removal.
Pivetta’s velocity dipped in the fourth inning before he left, as it went to 91-92 MPH, as opposed to the 94-95 MPH he pumped before. Per the team, he left with elbow stiffness.
Just hours after he was called up, White Sox pitcher Jonathan Cannon was removed from his outing with right hip irritation.
Cannon was called up to be the bulk pitcher for the Sox on the 12th.
The Orioles added another player to the injured list, as outfielder Tyler O’Neill was placed on the 7-day IL with a concussion.
George Springer was placed on the injured list with a left big toe fracture.
Cubs reliever Hunter Harvey was placed on the IL with right triceps inflammation.
White Sox outfielder Everson Pereira went 1-4 with a home run for Triple-A Charlotte.
Kyle Stowers went 1-3 with a strikeout for Triple-A Jacksonville. Also in that same game for Norfolk, Jackson Holliday went 0-4 with two strikeouts.
Giants pitcher Sam Hentges threw a scoreless inning for Low-A San Jose.
Gabriel Moreno (back), Masyn Winn (shin), J.T. Realmuto (foot), Jeremy Pena (knee), Wyatt Langford (quadriceps), and Luis Arraez (wrist) did not play on April 12.
